“ Came here with the fam and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! Whenever I was in this area I would always be curious to check out this spot and I'm so glad we finally did. It was pretty quiet when we went, but I am thinking it was because it was a snowy/rainy day and nobody really was looking to go out. We popped in and got a table not too far from the entrance, but pretty secluded behind a half wall and partition. The table was round and we were able to see each other and talk across the table. This was perfect to catch up with the Fam. We started out with drinks and I opted for the Tropical Sunset. Boy were they not light with the pour. Once you mix the drink it was very tasty and definitely very tropically. We also decided to start with Beef Negimaki and Cheese Wontons. This was a really hard decision because there is literally so much on this menu that we really wanted to try. I ordered one of the special Asian fusion rolls, the Peace Roll. It had spicy kani, shrimp tempura and avocado on the inside with spicy white tuna on the outside. And it was 12 pieces! The roll itself was so filling I didn't need the extra sweet potato roll I ordered. Other family members ordered hibachi fried rice, beef and broccoli along with many other dishes. They portion size was very generous. The food all around was very tasty. And the service whether a quiet night or not, was impeccable. They also brought steamed dumplings for the baby and he couldn't get enough. I was jealous because they were also very delicious. Excited to find places like this! ”

“ Asian fusion spots are always hit or miss for me, but I can confidently say that Golden Star does a good job of executing all of the different offerings on their menu. My husband and I have been ordering takeout from Golden Star for many years, and though we don't live locally anymore, Golden Star is our go-to spot when we can't decide between Chinese food or sushi. Love how we can get the best of both worlds. Our typical order usually includes - BBQ Spare Ribs - Jumbo Shrimp with Honey Walnuts - Shrimp Tempura Roll - Salmon Tempura Roll - Salmon Avocado Roll Sushi is usually made well. The rice to filling ratio is perfect in which the rolls are not overly rolled with rice. The tempura seafood inside of the rolls are always nicely crispy adding a good texture/crunch to each sushi piece. With respect to the kitchen items, they are also usually cooked well. The BBQ Spare Ribs are tender and flavorful and the Jumbo Shrimp with Honey Walnuts is always generously packed with lots of shrimp. Love the combination of pineapple and walnuts they also include in the mix of the dish. A nice combination of sweet and savory! Is Golden Star the best Asian, Chinese, Sushi I've ever had?...Definitely not. However they are a solid choice (and one of the better choices in terms of taste and quality) in the area. We typically order our food for pickup, so I cannot comment on the delivery service. We have not had any issues going into the restaurant to pick up. Our order is usually ready within the specified window of time they provide us. ”

“ I came in years ago, and my experience was less than spectacular even though the food itself was pretty good; Today, I figured enough time has passed and they are still there, getting mixed reviews; I woke up after the long drinking weekend with a hankering and remembered they have everything under the sun, from Japanese and sushi rolls to Chinese food classics... time to break out the wallet and shell out for way too much food! The test rang conclusive, the spot is pretty good as I remember. I got a slew of various things for the three of us spending quite a lot of money at the same time. $50 later I had the delicious roast pork appetizer, the pretty decent general tsos and pineapple chicken dishes, veggie lo mein which I never order but was good, and some hot n sour soup; it was all very good but I'm not sure I felt okay spending like ten bucks too much for all of this... then again, it was hot n fresh and ready in 15 minutes. They've got some decent sushi and lots of different things on the menu. A few different styles at this fusion restaurant are sure to please your entire crew. ”
